I have been in the streets of Beijing a lot and I was wondering out loud to Kenta', "I wonder if they have America Town in China?"
Every major city in America has Chinatown, so I was wondering if they have some sort of Americatown here.
Pretty valid question if you ask me. I haven't come across any symbolance of it though. Just a random thought I felt the need to share.

that is a good question...let me know when u find out the answer...they could pay alittle homage to the U.S of A. :)
ps good luck and congrats
Now that's funny. It reminds me of the flip side of a comment I heard on the "Amazing Race". Racers were in China and they were hungry. The one guys said, "We're hungry, so we're gonna go out for food. We can't call it Chinese food because we're in China. So we're just gonna go out ... for food". This is a very heavy New Yawk accent mind you. What a hoot! When you find that American-Town, let me know! All the best for a great games, and have the time of your life.
hmmmm good question.
Thats a legitimate question...why are there so many China towns in the US anyway. Why not Naija town. There is a large population of Nigerians in the US...I think they should establish their own "town" as well. LOL
Yeah. . .that will never happen. . .great question though!
with our country having such diverse cusine and cultures, I guess the closest ting would be the area where they have our fast food spots. Starbucks, McDonald's etc.
Would be great to see an american style diner, barbecue house, and such.
I predict that the Track and Field events will force China to become . . . Americatown :)
Stay focus . . .
Your fan,
Reality from the ATL :)
I'm wondering the exact same thing!!! thats funny though because there is like a chinatown everywhere!!!lol!!
Good luck. I'll be cheering for you!!
LOL
dude you are so right thats a very good question
ha ha lol if there is it probably has a mcdonalds, burger king, a sports bar, basketball courts, hotdog stands, and oh yea! they most definately would have the disney land turkey legs that u find at every theme park in america lmao
Oliver,
I work at UPS in Myrtle Beach SC and came across your blog on UPSERS.COM. Your Mom is super proud! Just wanted to wish you GOOD LUCK! I ran track in High School(High Jump)but gave it up thereafter. I always thought I'd be in the Olympics one day so I envy you.
Keep looking for that AmericaTown and bring home a medal!
Lisa
Ha! Well I suppose anywhere you go and visit McDonalds, Starbucks, and Pizza Hut is a little slice of America, dontcha think?!
Good question, but there would have to be American immigrants to open them right? Not sure that's happening yet. Good luck!
u make a good point, because in London we also have a chinatown in the main central of London. So could u look4a London Town in Beijing4me aswell. Thanxs luv.Looking 4ward2your round on monday.xx
David, I'm a UPSer in Indiana and came across your mom's story - and yours! Congratulations! You are a fine young man who has his priorities in line. I know your mom couldn't be prouder - as she should be! Thank you for being an excellent representative of Our Lord and the United States at the Olympic games.
Lol interesting question, but I highly doubt it. I mean the Chinatowns scattered around the States are just Chinese immigrants populating a specific area and just brought their culture along. I doubt that there is an a big American population in China to make such an impact.
@anonymous reality from the ATL.... u mean more like Jamaicatown!!!
David!!! Good luck. I hope I'm able to watch your race but if not I'm sure ill catch the medal ceremony!!! I love seeing HU do big things. Go Bison!!
Hey David I'm looking forward to hearing about your Olympic experience on your return and just want to let you know that many prayers are being sent your way daily by me and many of my prayerful friends and patients. MAY YOUR ABILITIES BE BLESSED INDEED, SAFE TRAVELS, SOUND BODY AND EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE MY FRIEND WOOOOOOSHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know, I'm currently in tokyo and I think the influx of fast food chains (wendy's, mcdonald's, subway, etc.) must be their shot out to us americans. good question:)
from one hu bison to the next: god's speed and congrats!
we're cheering for you!
gianina
Hey david! Just wanted to come say good luck and may God continue to bless you on your endeavor!! I love seeing fellow bison show the world who's boss! =)
*leslie*
David,
The closest I've found to AmericaTown is the Embassy area around Sanlitun Street. Very westernized.
Hey David, it's Lizzi from Scott church... Just wanted to let you know that we're all cheering for you from home and are SOOO proud of you! Keep shining!
That's a very good question. I doubt there is one though. Please post your response when you find out. Good Luck.
Interesting... I will be glad to read an answer if you ever come to a conclusion ;)
The answer is no, but Beijing does have an excellent Tex-Mex restaurant called "Pete's" on Jianwai Road. You will also find that a lot of Americans frequent The Courtyard, which overlooks the eastern wall of the Forbidden City and boasts a "fusion" menu. But better bring lots of yuan if you're going to eat there.
chinese people could really care less. and i mean this nicely because i am chinese, but good point =)
VERY RANDOM QUESTION. BUT I LOVE THE THOUGHT.....
Very cute comment, made me smile :) Congratulations on qualifiying last night, hope you win a medal, you deserve it!
