Aussie Aussie Aussi Oi, Oi, Oi!!

It was a very long full day of traveling for me in order to get out to Sydney, Australia, but has it been worth it so far!

I flew on Qantas Airline for the journey from London to Sydney on its new A380 jet. This was the first time I've flown on this airline and the first time I've been privileged enough to sit upstairs on the plane lol.
It took about 16 hours to get from London to Singapore, we had a quick layover to re fuel, then hit another eight hours from Singapore to Sydney.

The meet organizer Maury Plant picked us up from the airport, he's putting us up in a very nice hotel, right downtown. I showered and was seriously tapped out within a couple of hours, the bad part was, I've been up since 4:30 this morning (+14 hours time difference from Orlando).
(Picture from the hotel room)

Joel and I hit the realest breakfast I've ever had outside of the one's that Bren throws down on when I'm out in Denver, then we hit the streets for some sightseeing.
Picture with the historic Sydney Bridge.

The legendary Opera House that you probably see in everything involving Sydney, Australia.

After our quick self-guided tour of a couple block radius from the hotel, we hit a few shops and headed back to the hotel, I had an interview to do with the local paper.

Practice was on deck after that, right at the 2000 Olympic Park
Yevgeny Lukyanenko, the Russian Silver Medalist from Beijing, joined us for the training session as well. It looks like the pole vault will be one of the hottest competitions at the meet this weekend.Joel, Maury and I
It was SUPER hot at practice today, I hadn't felt heat like that in quite a while. Training went well, I hit a massage afterward and was back on the streets of Sydney.

My favorite shops are within minutes from the hotel, Polo, Gucci, Louis Vuitton. I tried to get some shoes, but for some reason my shoe size is too big, what a shock. Not really. They kept hitting me with "We don't have very many Australians your size", 10 1/2 seems to be the biggest size available in the entire city. Oh well. Now it's time for some dinner, I'm pretty surprised I'm still up, hopefully I can sleep until at least 7 or 8.

This is one of my favorite all time D.O. Blog posts. All of your pictures are so awesome. I wish I could go through this computer screen right now, and sightsee with you in beautiful Australia. At least, I get the next best thing, and get to travel with you through your wonderful words in your blog and amazing pictures. Thank You! I kind of feel like I am there with you. I am always with you in spirit. David, you just keep getting more awesome everyday. I am so happy for you that you are getting to have all these great experiences all over the world. A great person like you deserves to have this kind of happiness. Every picture and place you go, and meet that you compete at just keeps giving me more joy by the day. You know how to make my day so much brighter.

I love that you got to sit in the upper deck of the plane. That is so cool just like you. I am amazed that you can do all this traveling and look so good in all your pictures. I would look like a zombie and not too good if I did all of this.
I see you spreading your arms like eagle wings in one of your beautiful pictures, and David, I think you can fly as your "big boy season" is about ready to rumble. Another thing that I noticed in this blog post is that I can here my EJHeat sarcasm coming out in you with the not big enough shoe reference. "Shocked, not really" It sounds a lot like my sarcasm that you have read so many times now and I love it. Also, Aussie Aussie Aussi Oi, Oi,Oi, reminds me of my OOM-PA-PA chants. I am really loving this David.
By the way, I am sure you enjoyed that breakfast. I would certainly have loved that breakfast. Enjoy those shops. I know you will. I will have to do my best shopping at Wal-Mart. They should pay me for shopping there so much. But hey, I am getting discounted nice Polo shirts for amazing reduced prices. I look good in those Wal-Mart powder blue Polo shirts. Really,I do. More of my EJHeat humor for you, David. Thanks again, my King David, for sharing these wonderful moments of your life. You have made my day already, and like always you keep my spirits up and keep me going, and it is real early in the morning here as I talk talk and type type this for you. Speaking of talk talk, I think my "It's My Life" theme song for you, David, by Talk Talk would really sum up your amazing day. You are simply the best. That is the bottom line because me and Coach E said so!!!!

Your shoulders, arms and upper torso look like those superman outfits that kids buy for Halloween with the muscles n stuff...you don't have 1 ounce of body fat! You look great.

Have fun in Syndey, one place I would love to go. Heard the people are so kind and the land beautiful.

Are there really kangaroos on the beach like in this pic ;) LOL

That's awesome you're in Australia right now!!

I was actually at the Olympic Park in 2000 about a month before the Olympics started that year - and judging from your pictures it looks like it's still is in impeccable condition!

It looks like you and Joel are having an awesome time and as always good luck with at the meet!!!
