Well, last nights semi-final went basically how it needed to go. I got the big Q next to my name. My ending time wasn't very impressive, 13.31, but I was happy at the end. I received my Dartfish race analyzer for my touchdown points last night and I was surprised to see that I came through the first six hurdles faster in the semi-final than in the previous two races. I was 7.71 in the qualifying round, 7.64 in the quarters and 7.62 in the semis.
The problem I had with my race last night was that when I got clear of the field, I started thinking too much about what Brooks wanted me to work on for the race and got too complacent. I never think in a race, I just go. At the end of the day, I didn't feel like I did anything. In my cool down, I was feeling way more loose and fresh, which indicates to me I need to have a more aggressive warm-up for the finals.
The final is set up like this:
2- Wignall (JAM)
3- Phillips (JAM)
4- Noga (POL)
5- Payne (USA)
6- Robles (CUB)
7- D.O. (USA)
8- Doucoure (FRA)
9- Quinonez (ESP)
I'm feeling fresh this morning and I am going to go out and let it all hang loose, no need in saving anything for the junior prom!
30 down, 10 to go.

I finally caught your race last night and was so excited for you. Remember, you're always your worst critic, so despite what you consider shortcomings, you continue to give an awesome performance. Continue to shine Sweetie!
David I am so proud of you you go boy! I have been following you throughout the Olymipics and I like your style so much that I just had to find out more about you. I am impressed at how you present yourself during the interviews, speaking with intelligence and completing your statments without, "you know what I'm saying". lol Thanks for presenting yourself with style and I wish you blessing and God speed in your final event.
P.S. My daughter goes to Howard! and will graduate in 2009. Go Bison.

David,
I am so very proud of you. Who knew that when I met you at Howard in 2000 that this guy from Denver who was on the team with me would be an Olympian. You clearly had talent above and beyond the MEAC. We were both hurdlers you the 110s me the women's 100 meter hurdlers. My fondest memory of our track days was going to the homecoming game together as a team. I recently ran across some of those pictures. I just couldn't figure out how all the west coast schools missed out on signing you. Nevertheless, congratulations on your success and all of the track bison will be watching you.
David,
I finally got an opportunity to see your race last night! I didn't witness anything ragged about your performance :)
Run your race and stay focused . . .

Hard luck man, I know that you were aiming for the Gold, Dayron is top of his game, he has very tall legs that I think gave him the edge over you....
Anyways congrats for the Bronze, you are still an Olympic medalist :)

David,
Congradulations on your Bronze medal! I would have loved to see a 1-2-3 US sweep of the hurdles with you leading the way!
We're routing for you! Go for it!
BRONZE isn't bad for a guy who 8 years ago, was inches away from signing his life away to the U.S.Government & representing his Country in an intirely different way. DENVER STAND UP! You did a PHENOMinal job out there!
I don't know what's more crazy for me. . .You running you 1st ever hurdle race against me, killing me & now standing on an olympic podium. . .or your MOM & my DAD?
THANK YOU's are in order to you! Keep your head UP!
You did a great job in the semi-final. You are hard on yourself because you know your potential. Go out there and do what you do. Be the best you can be. Only 10 to go...
Good luck!! we'll be watching and cheering!!!!
Glory has come, man. You did it! You are an Olympic Medalist! No one can take that from you.Embrace that. Use this as fuel for the next 4! EXCELLENT JOB AND OVERALL DEDICATION.

I have enjoyed your interviews. You aren’t cocky or arrogant; you come across as being very humble and genuine…This is very refreshing to see.
Wishing nothing but God’s best for you! Blessings and traveling mercies in Jesus’ name!
You know I still owe you dinner for helping me "move on up", right? I am so proud of you that it's unreal! You always had that fire in your eyes and a smile on your face (bouncing around campus everyday). You deserve everything you have...You've earned it all! Hard work is just that: Hard. Again, I am so proud of you. I miss you so much, David! Take care. Ivory Council (remember HU 2000...) kalilovesyou2@yahoo.com
